She's at it again, that big sister telling you all about everything: this time it's helpful tips on finding the perfect job, how to conduct yourself in an interview, what to wear, what not to wear, etc. Needless to say, this is advice you may never have heard before--which of course makes it invaluable.

How to get Married... review in the New York Times
“HOW TO GET MARRIED — BY ME, THE BRIDE.”
By Sally Lloyd-Jones. Illustrated by Sue Heap
Schwartz & Wade. $16.99. (Ages 4 to 8)
The in-charge voice here will be recognizable to fans of “How to Be a Baby — by Me, the Big Sister.” The sage advice is wittily illustrated (“You can marry someone who is just like you, or someone who isn’t” goes with a picture of Baby Brother admiring himself in the mirror) and full of ideas for playing wedding make-believe, involving cake, presents and pets.

review in WORLD MAGAZINE: do some cartwheels for joy
WORLD MAGAZINE in their June issue on stands now, reviewed How To Get Married... By Me, The Bride in with their serious reviews about other books on marriage. How cool are they? Very. (The book is proving a hit with real actual grown up brides to be as the ideal shower gift.) Thanks World Magazine and Susan Olasky!
You can read the reviews here.
They said:
"With so much written about the troubles of marriage, it's refreshing to view it from the eyes of a 6-year-old. That's what Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of The Jesus Storybook Bible, gives us in How to Get Married by Me the Bride (Random House, 2009). Lloyd-Jones' cheeky prose and Sue Heap's lively illustrations combine in a delightful how-to book on marriage, chock full of good advice on choosing a mate. What advice, you ask? Here's a sample: "You can marry anyone you like! (Except they need to like you back.)" How about etiquette? "You have to be nice. For instance, no one will want to marry you if you - gobble up all their candy and never offer them any." And advice on proper love talk: "From now on, you say, 'Sweetheart, where are you, My Sweetheart?' And after the ceremony: "You have to yell, 'Hooray!' and then do some cartwheels for joy." Something brides and grooms would do well to remember.

OUT TODAY! How To Get Married
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY says it's "Stylish and Witty"
SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL says it's "bound to be a hit with the Fancy Nancy Crowd"
KIRKUS says "aspiring brides and starry-eyed flower girls alike will be enchanted"
I say quick better go and get it before it sells out.
Here's the perfect book for kids who play pretend and throw mock weddings, and also for grown-ups who are actual brides-to-be.
Our know-it-all narrator is at it again, in this companion to the New York Times bestselling How To Be A Baby... By Me, The Big Sister. Take it from the six-year-old “bride-to-be”: No one will marry you if you don’t ever brush your hair and it looks like a bird’s nest back there. And never get married when it’s dark, because you might not see the groom, and marry the wrong person. When you have found your Own True Love, you must ask permission. “Can I marry you please?” you say. “Yes, please,” he says.

"sure to be a hit with ... the Fancy Nancy crowd”
so says SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL in their lovely review of HOW TO GET MARRIED... BY ME, THE BRIDE. Quoted below:
LLOYD-JONES, Sally. How to Get Married by Me, the Bride. illus. by Sue Heap. unpaged. CIP. Random/Schwartz & Wade Bks. Tr $16.99. ISBN 978-0-375-84118-7; PLB $19.99. ISBN 978-0-375-94118-4. LC 2007037839.
PreS-Gr 2—The all-knowing narrator from How to Be a Baby—by Me, the Big Sister (Random, 2007) is back with more advice in this fun-filled guide to finding the perfect mate and planning a wonderful wedding. Using the same step-by-step format found in the earlier title, the precocious little girl shares her observations on what to look for in a spouse (nose picking is not acceptable) as well as what details are important to remember when planning for the big day. The advice is delivered in a running commentary as well as in lists of boxed text. Good places to get married include a castle, up a tree, or your playroom. The acrylic cartoons are filled with fun details that match the lively charm of the text. After the festivities, "the bride" says goodbye to the guests, skips all the way home holding her daddy's hand, and tells him all about her day. This book is sure to be a hit with fans of the first title as well as with the "FANCY NANCY" (HarperCollins) crowd.—Maura Bresnahan, High Plain Elementary School, Andover, MA

It's Spring, Brides are here
It's that time of year. And every Bride needs people around her to help her plan her most perfect wedding day. (I'm sure even Grace Kelly did.) There are things you might not know.
For instance, should she really be shoveling that cake into his mouth like that?
And how do you know who exactly to marry? and what to wear?
And what if you're a ring bearer? or a paige? or a bridesmaid? How do you know how to do everything?
Worry no more! Coming to bookstores near you on April 14th just in time for wedding season... and the Bridal Showers ... and everything else--the perfect absolute final definitive guide:
(If you know someone getting married and you're a kind friend, you'll buy this book. And even if you don't, you should because it's always good to be prepared and knowledgeable.)(About everything, mostly.)

sue heap in the TIMES
Look. There she is. In the London Times no less!
She's a genius, by the way. She's also the one who illustrated HOW TO BE A BABY and the soon to be released companion, HOW TO GET MARRIED: by Me, the Bride (as well as Handbag Friends).
Best of all, she's a great friend.
She also is extremely courageous and this article is about something she never speaks of: her brave struggles with rheumatoid arthritis.

SNEAK PEAK of top secret new work...
... the bossy big sister narrator is at it again... and this time? Well it's HOW TO GET MARRIED: by Me, the Bride. (Ably assisted, of course, by that little baby--who at one point ends up wearing a moustache.)
It's the companion to the New York Times Bestseller, HOW TO BE A BABY: by Me, the Big Sister and it's coming in March--just in time for spring.
The publisher says: "Here is the perfect book for kids who play pretend and throw mock weddings, and also for grown-ups who are actual brides-to-be. "
